Fin de semana

El fin de semana comenzó bajando a San Salvador el viernes, preparando todo para el primer curso de introducción a RIE en el Salvador. Diego, (el cooperante de Chalatenango), Esther y yo fuimos a llevar el material y a hablar con la asociación CIAZO mientras Patri iba a la oficina de extranjería a obtener su permiso de residencia a tres semanas de volver a España.

Fuimos luego a cenar los cuatro con Carlos Ardón, un coordinador de la Red Internacional de Educación en El Salvador. Hablamos un rato hasta que Diego y Carlos se fueron a la casa y nosotras al hostal donde se queda Esther. Estuvimos, leyendo, hablando y ensayando el curso del día siguiente. 

El sábado por la mañana nos despertamos temprano y fuimos a CIAZO donde nos encontramos con Diego y Carlos. Ya estaba todo listo y organizado para empezar. Empezamos tarde, por la impuntualidad generalizada, pero empezamos bien, desde el principio y hasta que Patri y yo nos tuvimos que ir, hubo un ambiente tranquilo, abierto, interesante y muy dinámico. Conocimos a mucha gente interesante y muy interesada en lo que hace RIE aquí, queriendo participar y ampliar la red.

Nosotras nos tuvimos que ir antes porque habían cambiado la hora del bautizo de Alexa para que llegásemos. Quedamos con Ceci, una prima de la familia, en San Salvador y subimos con la tarta y la decoración del bautizo. Llegamos algo tarde pero pudimos ver cómo bautizaban a la niña y sacar un par de fotos antes de la cena. 

Luego en la casa ya cenamos y bailamos hasta que se hizo tarde y a dormir. Al día siguiente estuve todo el día en casa. La familia se fue a unas piscinas, pero yo estaba cansada y decidí quedarme descansando y haciendo Skype con España y luego con EEUU. 

El lunes fue la primera reunión de comité consultivo a la que fui, y la verdad es que pintaba raro y hubieron comentarios que tuvieron que ser corregidos, sobretodo en cuanto a género, pero me fui contenta tras la mañana de propuestas para el 2017. Tanto ayer como hoy, me dormí la siesta y si por mí hubiese sido, seguiría dormida. Estos calores/fríos me drenan la energía. 

En diez días estaré de nuevo subiéndome a otro avión. ¡Cómo está volando el tiempo!

This weekend started off heading down to San Salvador on Friday, getting everything ready for the first introduction course to the International Education Net (RIE in Spanish). Diego (another volunteer here in Chalatenango), Esther and I went to take things over to CIAZO, the place we were going to have the course the next day while Patri went to the inmigration office to get her residency permit, three weeks before going back to Spain.

We later went out to have dinner with Carlos Ardón, a coordinator for RIE here in El Salvador. We all talked for a while until they went home and Patri, Esther and I went back to the hostel where Esther stays to read, talk and prepare Saturday´s course.

Saturday morning, we were awake real early to have a coffee and run to CIAZO where we found Diego, Carlos and everything prepared to start. We started late as usual, because of the general unpunctuality here, but as soon as we started it was great. We had a open, relaxed, interesting and very dynamic space to talk about education. We met a lot off interesting people there who were very interested in knowing what we´re doing here and how we can work together and creat future links to extend the education net.

We had to leave before the course finished because the family we stay with had changed the time of the baptism so we could get there on time. We met up with Ceci, a cousin of the family in San Salvador and went up to Guadalupe with the baby´s cake and the baptism decoration. We got here a little late but we saw Alexa´s baptism and were able to take a few pictures before the dinner. 

Later on, at the house we had dinner and danced until it was late and went to bed. The next day the whole family went to some swimming pools but I was tired and decided to stay home resting and Skyping all day.

Monday was the first time I went to a town hall advisory comittee and at first it was a little weird and there were a few comments which had to be corrected, overall refering to gender, but after a few discussions, I went home with a smile on my face, thinking about the things we put forward to start in 2017. Today and yesterday I had a nap, and if it were for me I would still be sleeping. This heat/cold weather is draining my energy. 

Just ten more day and I´m hoping on another plane! Time is flying!
