Dos semanas ya de vuelta en El Salvador y han sido non-stop desde el primer día.
Esther y yo llegamos el mismo día pero no nos vimos hasta el lunes que fuimos a recogerla la coordinadora (Irma) y yo a Soyapango para pasar por la universidad de San Vicente, reunirnos ahí y subir a Guadalupe.
Una vez en Guadalupe, tras los saludos nos movimos cada una a su habitación (antes dormíamos juntas Patricia y yo) y cenamos con la familia que nos prepararon una cena de bienvenida 💓.
Los días siguientes fueron de reuniones y mucho trabajo hasta el sábado que decidimos darnos un descanso e ir a ver a un alumno y una alumna de Esther a Apastepeque. Fue un día curioso, pudimos agarrar a la perrita que nos perseguía (Delgadita) para que la viniese a buscar un chico al cual le avisó la otra Esther desde España, y fuimos al desvío de Apastepeque, primero en un ride, luego guagua y luego pick up hasta el parque de Apastepeque donde nos encontramos con Eduardo.
Nos llevó a la Galería Musa, un taller de pintura y carpintería que se convirtió en una galería. Ahí nos encontramos con Lidia e hicimos el tour por la galería acompañad@s del hijo del dueño, que nos tocó una canción en el piano preciosa 😊.
Luego fuimos a almorzar a la laguna de Apastepeque y a San Vicente para ver una casa para las chicas que vendrán a la universidad y aprovechamos para hacer la compra y subir a Guadalupe.
El resto del fin de semana y la semana siguiente la pasamos en reuniones en la alcaldía, en las escuelas y preparando los planes de intervención para presentar a los docentes y modificar con ellos. El viernes bajamos a San Salvador a inscribirnos en el consulado y para "recoger mi permiso de residencia anual" pero como no hay convenio firmado hasta diciembre sino hasta febrero, me han dado hasta febrero y a la espera estamos de volver a empezar todo el papeleo para volver a pedir los papeles.
Para celebrar, porque la cuestión es celebrar, fuimos a almorzar a un japonés muy rico que nos recomendó Masato y quedamos con Luis (el ex coordinador de RIE en El Salvador) para cenar y quedarnos en su casa con su maravillosa familia.
El sábado fuimos a comprar cosas para la casa y nos recogió Melvin para ir a pasar una tarde maravillosa en su casa con su familia súper acogedora. El día siguiente se celebró el cumpleaños de la abuela y de la mamá de Melvin y estuvimos con la familia a partir del almuerzo. Por la mañana, fuimos a un encuentro de acroyoga en un parque en San Salvador y lo cierto es que lo pasamos genial. Nos relajamos, aprendimos mucho y conocimos gente maravillosa con la que seguro mantendremos el contacto para futuros fines de semana que pasemos en San Salvador 😄.
No puedo decir más que buenas cosas de lo que he vivido hasta ahora este año en El Salvador y estoy segura de que así seguirá 😍.
Two non-stop weeks back in El Salvador since we got here. Esther and I arrived the same day but didn´t see each other until the next day when the coordinator (Irma) and I went to pick her up in Soyapango, to go by the university in San Vicente, have a meeting there and then head up to Guadalupe.
Once we got to Guadalupe, and after the hugs we each moved to our own bedroom (Patricia and I used to sleep together) and had dinner with the family which prepared a welcome dinner.
The days after we moved in were full of meetings and work. On Saturday we had a break to go see two of Esther´s students from the university in Apastepeque. It was a nice day, we caught the dog that used to follow us around town to give her to a boy who was going to take care of her, we got on the bus that took us to Apastepeque.
They took us to Musa Gallery, an art gallery and carpentry shop which turned into a gallery. The owner´s son took us around on a tour telling us about the gallery and finished by playing and amazing song on the piano.
We then we to lunch to the Apastepeque lagoon and to San Vicente to see a house for the girls which will be coming to work at the university. We were able to buy and head up to Guadalupe. ç
The rest of the weekend and the next week we had meetings at the town hall, at the schools we´re going to be working at, preparing yearly plans to turn into teachers at the schools and modify with them. On Friday we went to San Salvador to the consulate and to "pick up my residency permit for a year" but there´s no agreement signed until december, so I have until February and have to start all the paperwork again.
To celebrate, because what matters is we always have something to celebrate, we went to lunch at a japannese restaurant which Masato sent us to and met up with Luis (the ex coordinator of RIE in El Salvador) for dinner and to stay at his house with his amazing family.
On Saturday we went to buy things for our house and Melvin picked us up to have an amazing afternoon at his house with his lovely family. The next day his grandmother and mother´s birthday was celebrated at his house with his family with which we had a nice afternoon. That morning, we went to a park in San Salvador to learn about acroyoga and meet some really cool people with which I´m sure we will keep in contact to meet up other Sundays we may be around San Salvador.
I can´t say any bad things of what I´ve lived until now this year in El Salvador and I´m sure it will keep up like that :)
