Sábado 11 de marzo

El sábado 11 de marzo me desperté a las 5:00 de la mañana para poder ducharme (a oscuras) y prepararme para subirme al bus que me dejaría en el desvío 51 a las 7 de la mañana. No sé qué pasaba esa mañana que iba muchísima gente. Cuando me bajé en el desvío, Verónica me dijo que había perdido el bus y que llegaría algo más tarde y Edmundo, llegó a las 7:10. Ahí esperamos a Verónica y al poco tiempo nos recogió un compañero de Edmundo para pasar por Cojutepeque e ir hasta San Salvador.

Esa mañana Verónica y yo fuimos invitadas a ser madrinas del equipo de la Corte de Cuentas de San Vicente. No sabía qué esperar del evento pero lo cierto es que me gustó. Había un ambiente muy familiar, muy agradable donde presentaron al equipo junior de la corte de cuentas (hijas e hijos de personal de la corte de cuentas) y luego a los equipos que jugarían en la liga de la Corte de Cuentas de El Salvador.

Después de escuchar a la banda municipal de El Salvador, empezaron los equipos a desfilar con madrinas hasta llegar delante de la mesa presidencial donde dieron unas palabras, bajaron al campo e inauguraron el campeonato de fútbol de la Corte de Cuentas de El Salvador.

Verónica y yo nos fuimos a sentar en la grada y mientra veíamos a los equipos jugar, resolvimos el mundo como se dice sentadas hablando del pasado, del presente y del futuro, personal de cada una y de Guadalupe, donde actualmente trabajamos las dos.

Al perder el equipo, volvimos antes de lo esperado del mini torneo del sábado y gracias a eso pudimos almorzar tranquilamente en la casa de Edmundo para llegar a Guadalupe justo a la hora de comienzo de la celebración del día de la mujer, donde asistirían mujeres de todos los cantones y comunidades de Guadalupe.

La agenda del día se hizo amena presentada por Sandra, la encargada de la unidad de género de la alcaldía con las diversas intervenciones a lo largo de la tarde entre las cuáles estaba Edmundo, disfrazado de Chumelo Prostático :D entró con un bastón pareciendo que necesitaba mucha ayuda, hasta que captó la atención de todo el mundo y se puso a bailar como loco dejando a todxs lxs presentes boquiabiertas :D. Fue una intervención diferente, divertida y educativa.

Se hizo reparto del famoso refrigerio organizado todo por la Asociación de Mujeres para el Desarrollo de Guadalupe (AMDEGUA) y se finalizó la tarde con el video que hicimos con tanto amor de las mujeres de Guadalupe.

Volvimos a casa y yo ya me vine a la habitación a descansar y a leer hasta quedarme frita tras un día genial.



March 11th I woke up at 5:00 am to be able to take a shower (in the dark) and get ready to get on the bus which would drop me off at 7 am. I don´t know what was going on that morning but the bus was full. When I got off the bus, Veronica told me she had missed the bus and would be late and Edmundo, got there at 7:10. So we had to wait for Veronica and a little after we were picked up by Edmundo´s co-worker to go by Cojutepeque and head out to San Salvador.

That morning Veronica and I were invited to be the San Vicente Corte de Cuentas patroness´. I didn´t really know what to expect but the truth is I liked it. There was a really nice homey environment. The host presented the junior team formed by the children of the people who work at the Corte de Cuentas and later the teams formed by the workers there.

After listening to the town band, teams walked behind the band with their patroness´ until we stood in front of all the "company´s big wigs" where they took the mic and finally opened the football season for la Corte de Cuentas de El Salvador.

Veronica and I sat down on the bleachers, talking about past, present and future "solving the world´s problems" as they say, while watching the fooball team loose their first game. Because of their lost we left San Salvador earlier and had lunch at Edmundo´s house before we had to run out of there and get to Guadalupe to the late celebration for women of Guadalupe.

The afternoon went by pretty fast presented by Sandra, the girl in charge of gender unit at the town hall. The afternoon had a intervention by Edmundo, dressed up as Chumelo prostático, he entered the town square with a cane, making people think he had terrible problems to walk to capture attention and start dancing like crazy, he made everybody laugh during his presentation speaking about gender equality making women and men there think about concepts and how we must change them.

After his intervention, women from AMDEGUA gave out snacks and played a video we recorded of women in Guadalupe and their daily chores in this amazing town.

It was dark by then, I came home, and fell asleep reading after an amazing day.
